I am Crystal Coleman. I am the owner and founder of Amnesty Cosmetic. My brand started from a family vision, basically. Um, it just nails fell into my lap, but it’s always been part of my family from my grandmother showing me how she applies Cuticle Oil when she picks me up from school when I was in elementary school. And I just picked up the family past times of nails and applied my own twists to it all. I’ve been an artist my whole life, so I’ve always been super, super creative with my hands, and really artsy. So combining my art skills with nails has allowed me to dive deep into the industry really quickly. In the beginning, like my first six months when I was in years ago, I learned how to make something out of nothing with little to no money and to create beautiful, beautiful art. And then I pulled that over into press on and expanded out into products now. And I just educating people about the products and the beauty industry in general with nails and it just continues to grow.
So I flew under the radar for years with my brand, even having a nice professional logo for a long time and joining a few business-savvy Facebook groups. A few years ago I saw Ms. Ticora Post and she was always so informative she was just right on top of everything and she was so eager to sprinkle information here and there, but not to give so much away because of course it’s a business. And I was just like, you know, I like that. And she just, I watched her do it for almost a year. It was a long time. And then I fell into enough money to be able to do it and I was just like, you know what? If I’m gonna pick somebody, I’m gonna pick somebody that, a brand and a person behind it, a business that is not just in it for the money, but they understand that it’s more than just that. And I had to pick the creator’s law firm because there were no other options for me. After that <laugh>,
I feel that I didn’t want to, not to protect myself, and then later on run into a situation where I’m just like, Oh my gosh, what do I do now? So I wanted to be, wanted to get myself together business-wise before I run into a problem. So I don’t think I’m gonna run into issues like that because I did. I took it, and I was proactive with it.
So goal wise, things that have changed now due to being trademarked allow me to make sure that when somebody mentions Amnesty Nails or Amnesty Cosmetics, it’s me. So that allows me to be able to expand more than just, oh, I do it myself. And it opens me up to be able to get contracts with the government and contracts with other businesses to work with them and collaborate. And we both have our logos on things and I’m branded and it’s mine and protected. And then it also allows me to expand and add new products to my brand no matter what the products are because the logos and branding are so recognizable that I have no limits to all the things that I can do now.
So I’ve actually been working with some, um, individuals here locally in El Paso with paperwork so that when I’m ready to accept government contracts, I can, but I have the options with private monetization with the government sector in the jail and prison form because they have nail programs and I can make sure that I alter my products and, and packaging to where it will fit or supposed to be rehabilitating themselves and, and becoming new. They can learn a new skill set while they’re there and possibly Amnesty Cosmetics will be there for them for that. So when they are here back into the real world and integrated, they can, boom, I’m used to this. I know how to do this. I can make money for my family and provide and grow my own legacy using amnesty. So that was really a big reason why I went, uh, government sector after getting trademarked, because I wanted to be able to offer myself to more than just the regular people going to the nail shop. I wanna be, I wanna help everybody make their money, not just giving money to the tech. And you’re sitting down getting your nails done.
Get off the fence, jump <laugh>, Jump do it Don’t wait. Don’t wait because you’re gonna regret waiting. So do it. Take the plunge, invest in yourself, invest in your brand. Do what you have to do.
